More Quilts

Quilt:  Summer at the Beach
Pattern:  Inspired by the Summer at the Park video tutorial by Missouri Star Quilt Company.  I wrote a pattern for it and you can download it here.

Quilt:  Double Hourglass
Pattern:  A quilt I designed from two jelly rolls.  You can download the pattern here
Story:  I was just playing around with my rulers one day and noticed that when you lined the 45 degree line on a 6 1/2" square ruler up with the bottom of two 2 1/2" strips you would be able to cut a 90 degree triangle.  Amazing!  And I thought geometry was boring.

Quilt:  Mum's Hunter's Star
Pattern:  This pattern came from Sew Scrappy Volume 1.
Story:  You can read more about this quilt here.

Quilt:  Jelly Stars
Pattern:  Jelly Stars by Joanne Figueroa of Fig Tree and Co.
Story:  I taught this quilt at our Wallaroo retreat in 2010 and made the class sample out of Aster Manor for Mum.  This is the quilt she has on her bed.  I have made another one for myself out of Garden Party by Blackbird designs but I haven't quilted it yet.  I am planning to custom quilt it myself and have been madly practicing feathers.

Quilt True North
Pattern:  A Fox and Geese set on point pattern found in an old Australian Patchwork and Quilting Magazine.
Story:  This is the first quilt I made when I started quilting again in 2006.  Just a little bit ambitious?  I made it for my husband as a wedding gift and my Mum quilted it for me.  You can't see them in the photo but there are some truly gorgeous feathers in the borders.  The strange border dimensions come from me being totally confused by how to make the quilt bigger by adding more blocks.  The set on point thing threw me and so I just made the side borders bigger so it would hang over the bed!
